Although Matt Gardner has been improvising since birth, he only recently found this out when he was told “Life IS improv, duh!” And so it goes.
Preparation for his debut with Gigantor has been shaped by several roles Matt has taken on over the years, including:
* Grocery store clerk seeking deeper meaning in produce and frozen foods
* Student-athlete balancing the equation of physics + baseball = love
* Father who struggles to relearn calculus to help save his teenage son
* Programmer seemlessly shifting between worlds of mainframes and web apps, clients and servers
* Physics teacher revolutionizing the world saying “it’s not gravity, it’s magic”
Matt began studying short form at Dad’s Garage and Laughing Matters in 2007. He began long form classes with Jackpie in Jan. ‘09, and also had the good fortune to perform monthly with the Red Door Players in Roswell, GA that year. Matt is a member of “Gigantor” here at Jackpie, performing twice monthly.
“What I love most about playing with Gigantor is the fear of taking the stage with nothing, comforted by knowing that we, as whole, will create something special that never existed before.”
Come see us play!
