After years of rollerskating through a career in the non-profit world as a creative event stylist, marketing guru and fundraising diva, Shellie Schmals found Relapse in the fall of 2005 and holds the title of being “first person ever” to hold an event at Relapse Theatre in January 2006! Throughout the week you can see her performing with 2Girls3Eyes improv troupe and the JackPie house team, Your Mom’s Mom. In Spring 2008, Shellie was cast in Coup de Theatre’s production of Hold Me! and performed as Mrs. Velma Noheart with Syrens of the South Burlesque. In November 2009, she co-hosted the first “Atlanta Stands Up Awards” celebrating Atlanta’s stand up comedian community. Stalk her name on google for various projects she’s been involved in throughout the years.
As Relapse Theatre’s Community Affairs Director, Shellie is known for partnering and producing shows with eclectic genres of local and national actors, comedians, dancers, filmmakers, musicians, artists, DJs and hooligans alike. Venues Shellie has performed & partnered with include: Eyedrum, DooGallery, Niche Gallery, The Laughing Skull Lounge, Sideline Lounge, The Punchline, Actor’s Express, Mason Murer, Drunken Unicorn and Lenny’s Bar. She’s thrilled to be a member of the Relapse family and can’t wait to take over the world with the coolest peeps in ever!
